Staff

We need help with a variety of roles at Thy Geekdom Con. Staff must work at least 16 hours and will receive free admission, food, and a t-shirt (more details below)!

No new staff will be accepted during the con. If you wish to help make sure to fill out the form prior to the deadline listed in the form.

Below we listed the hours staff is needed during the weekend of the con.

  • Thursday 10AM - 10PM
  • Friday 10AM - 10PM
  • Sat 9AM - 12AM
  • Sun 9AM - 12AM

Staff Positions

Registration: Handles admission of everyone entering the convention

Safety: Make sure everything is running smoothly, watches entrances, and checks badges

Programming: Makes sure the panels are running smoothly and on time

Main Stage: Help set up and break down stage between acts

Tabletop: Help run board games and RPGs throughout the day

Video Gaming: Ensures the video game area is all set up and everything runs smoothly

Cosplay: Help run cosplay related events during the con such as the costume contests

Requirements

  • Must work a minimum of 16 hours to receive perks. (4 hours of which is mandatory for either set up or break down)
  • Must be 18 or older by the time of the show (5/24/24)
  • Show up on time or early
  • Staff must work majority of their shifts during hours con is open to the public. (Can't only be on set up and break down)
  • Be cordial and informative to attendees, vendors, etc
  • Complete assigned tasks
  • Bring a photo ID with you
  • Wear shoes that completely cover your feet (no sandals or bare feet)

Rules

Any of the following are not allowed and may result in a volunteer being dismissed :

  • Not showing up with no notice
  • No leaving early with no advanced notice
  • Not helping in assigned areas
  • Being rude or language above PG13
  • Do not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol during shifts
  • Being inattentive while on duty (On cell phone, etc)
  • Promoting other events or businesses without permission
  • Stay in designated area during shift unless told otherwise
  • Do not shop or play games during shifts

If you are dismissed you will not be allowed as a volunteer the following year
